Today I would like to share my experience of using a device that, in my opinion, can really surprise many users today. And its name is REV GTS 230W.
First, a little about who makes such box mods. REV Technology Ltd. is based in the UK, production is in China. Using the most advanced technologies, the latest developments, unique design and inspiration from the spirit of motorsports are the main points on which the guys create their devices.
And now let’s move on to reviewing the GTS 230W. In front of us is a cardboard cover (why is it so – a little below), on which from all sides we can see a variety of information about the device inside: its appearance (amazing at first sight!), mentions of a user-friendly interface and the possibility of customization (only spoilers …), as well as brief technical specifications (including the color of the box inside the box) along with information about the manufacturer and a sticker for checking the originality.

I will immediately note one interesting fact. Near the sticker with the brand code, there is another interesting sticker – Powered by Venom v1.1. new zealand vape shop richmond So, this indicates that our device works on the proprietary Venom chipset, which guarantees us reliable operation, as well as the ability to fine-tune the interface and update the software (we received promises – we will check below).
We remove the cardboard “cover” – and before us appears a thick branded black box, opening which we see the following:

To be honest, it is very pleasant to unpack devices that have some surprises! And the eye is also pleased to see the neat execution of the packaging, which is full of the company logo. I really liked everything here!
They say that the first impressions are the most important. So… The box has no shortage of ergonomics – it lies in the hand quite nicely and confidently. I would like to immediately note the considerable weight of the device (and add the atomizer and 2 batteries …) due to the material of execution (there is a lot of metal in the device), but this fact is compensated by the excellent slightly curved shape and rounded edges of the device. And of course, the huge screen – it is very appropriate here, in my opinion, since the concept lies in innovation.

And here about the color options. I got the Blue color, but you can also buy Red and Green.
Now a few words about the appearance and controls. The front panel is dominated by an HD screen (I couldn’t find information about the exact resolution anywhere — we’ll take your word for it), which fits very ergonomically into the overall concept of the device. At the back is the battery compartment cover (held on by 3 magnets — no play was noticed, everything is very tight and in place) with an interesting structure that is very pleasant to the palm. On top is a 510 connector with a pad of a very small landing diameter (more on this fact a little later). At the bottom are ventilation holes for cooling the board. As for the side edges, one of them is completely empty, but the second is occupied by control elements: the FIRE button (slightly ribbed, with a pleasant press and a brand logo – again, very pleasant for both the finger and the eye), the “+” and “-” buttons, the brand “M” button (more on that later) and a microUSB port for charging batteries inside the box mod and updating the firmware.

So, let’s go! Insert the batteries, observing the polarity… And nothing happened… Then we do as in most cases – press the FIRE button 5 times – that’s another matter. The branded splash screen appears, and after it the main screen itself. Your eyes immediately run wide from the number of elements and colors… And how interestingly the automotive theme is expressed… But nothing! Let’s examine everything in order:
the upper “speedometer” is an indicator of the set power: by default, the arrow lies at 0, but when used, it rises to the parameter you specified;
the mode in which the box mod is currently operating;
readings of voltage, current, atomizer resistance and the number of puffs (I will immediately make a reservation – the last parameter is reset to “0” when the device is turned off);
battery charging indicators;
brand logo (well, where would we be without it!);
the lower “speedometer” displaying the puff time.
Conclusions
In conclusion, I will note the following. The REV GTS 230W box mod turned out to be, in my opinion, a very successful device. Yes, it is not without its drawbacks: I will note a little extra weight. But if we talk in general – it is quite a good modern device, which is made in an interesting style and corresponds to modern concepts. And this is a controversial point, as always: it seems to be “fashionable and modern”, but on the other hand it is somehow expensive… But in any case – the REV GTS 230W will be interesting!
