This review will focus on the box mod from Joyetech called ESPION 200W. ProCore X tank included.
At the time of its release, the Cuboid box mod from Joyetech made quite a lot of noise in the vape community. Some enthusiastically praised the new product for its non-standard approach to some familiar things, while others scolded the device for no reason, calling it almost a complete failure. But the fact remains: the very first “Cuboid” shook up the vaping market. Subsequently, Joyetech released more than one box mod with a similar name, however, none of these mods ever gathered the same excitement around themselves. Today we will look at the next reincarnation of the Cuboid, but with a different name – ESPION. On the agenda is the “whale” version with a ProCore X tank.
How many batteries in the mod are optimal for you? (2018-2021)
Packaging of Joyetech ESPION 200W with a ProCore X tank Packaging
Joyetech does not change their packaging from device to device. The only thing is that the image of the device on the front side of the box, which is logical, is always different. e-liquids in new zealand And all the remaining information and a scattering of the manufacturer’s logos are well known to us. In my case, there is a red sticker indicating that this is a pre-sale sample. The back of the chest with the ESPION “Cuboid” contains information about the package, the manufacturer (naturally), and there is also a security code for checking for originality. There are warning icons to the right of the barcode, which is good. Having opened the box, we immediately come across the culprit of today’s review. Under it, or rather under its foam pad, are the remaining parts of the package.
So what interesting things did the manufacturer put in the box? Apart from the mod itself, probably nothing. But we will still sort out a pile of Chinese, excuse me, junk.

I must admit, I am already starting to get confused in all these endless and monotonous non-services of average lousyness from Joyetech. Once again, the manufacturer puts the same tank with its mods, trying in every possible way to disguise its lack of fresh ideas with a different name or a slightly different design. But, by and large, the ProCore X is a typical representative of tanks that are included with mods for the sake of appearance, “so that it’s there.”
When reviewing Joyetech products, it’s hard not to repeat myself in the description of the design. On top is a drip tip with a filling cap and engravings with the name of the device along with an incomprehensible symbol, below is a 510 (really) connector with a pin that doesn’t stick out at all. It was possible not to voice this information, because it is unlikely that there will be a sane person who will use this atomizer on a mechanical mod, especially with a hybrid connector. The lower part contains some certificates and a warning that the ProCore X should not be thrown into the trash, no matter how much you would like to. I barely resisted such a temptation.

Colors of Joyetech ESPION 200W with ProCore X tank
Image from joyetech.com
The ESPION 200W box mod, like the tank described above, is available in three colors: gunmetal, black, and blue. In the latter case, the similarity with the color of the complete tank ends, because the blue mod got a steel tank. Although the mod is not completely blue, but only its lower part. In general, from an aesthetic point of view, everything is fine, the designers did not miss.
As for our patient today, it is completely black, as you may have noticed. We must give credit to the manufacturer, because the ESPION 200W looks really decent. On the front panel there is a large display, control buttons, the functionality of which we will look at a little later, as well as a micro-USB port for charging and updating the firmware. The upper part of the device (the one that is not ribbed) has a glossy finish, and the lower part, in turn, is made for soft touch.
At the back of the box mod, only on the top can you see the harmoniously inscribed name of the device. On the side we find a convenient and large Fire button with the name and logo of the manufacturer, which, in addition to everything, has a color different from the main body of the mod: steel. Nevertheless, the ESPION looks very presentable in this form, laconic and at the same time strict. Design – like.
Impressions and conclusions
To be honest, I was not impressed at all by the set as a whole, the mod itself or the atomizer. ESPION 200W with ProCore X tank is another Chinese product of dubious quality, intended simply to replenish the vaping market with products from a single manufacturer. There is nothing innovative in it (in the product) or at least something that would clearly distinguish it from many similar analogues from other companies. I will not put pros and cons for individual devices from the set, but will write down my positive and negative impressions point by point.
What I liked:
In the ESPION box mod, I liked its design and ergonomics. The device, I must admit, is very nice. It is also endowed with decent ease of use. The mod fits comfortably in the hand, has compact dimensions and is generally very suitable for everyday use.
A good board, no matter how you look at it. Many different functions, high power, fast response when you press the Fire button. Whatever you say, Joyetech makes good boards.
Nice, large and informative display. Can show time and date, if someone suddenly needs it. Changing the interface color scheme is also a nice bonus.
The central location of the connector allows you to wind atomizers of almost any diameter without perfectionist hell. I only had a 25-mm diameter at hand, but I must say, there is still room for something larger on the landing pad.
What I didn’t like:
I didn’t like the ProCore X tank in principle. It looks and feels like cheap Chinese junk. You just don’t want to use it. I would recommend buying the mod separately, without the included atomizer.
The battery cover in the ESPION does not inspire confidence. It works, yes. But, every time you close or open this very cover, you can’t shake the feeling that it is about to break.
The overall quality of the mod, of course, does not cause any particular complaints, however, when you first take the ESPION in your hands, you understand that the manufacturer clearly saved on the materials. A cheap Chinese toy – this is the impression that this mod leaves behind.
A slightly crookedly installed display in my case similarly cannot be attributed to the advantages of the device. Joyetech, monitor quality control more carefully.
By and large, the ESPION box mod without its “whale” tank has the right to exist. It works, copes well with the tasks assigned to it, looks solid and, perhaps, will please its owners. I was not particularly impressed by all this. Previously, the Joyetech company released much higher quality and more interesting devices.
