Today we will review a small unusual looking box mod from the new Chinese-American company GTRS — GT150W.
According to some rumors, the young Chinese company GTRS Tech is not so new, but traces its lineage back to the legendary KSD (aka KangSiDe), which once became famous for its cheap and very popular Vamo pipe mods. The newly-minted manufacturer, apparently targeting the American market, placed its headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, and its production facilities, like the vast majority of today’s companies (and not only in vaping), remained in Shenzhen. GaoMeiTe (Hong Kong) Technology Co.,Ltd (the full name of the manufacturer) managed to release several devices on boards from third-party manufacturers, including a kit based on the GT 150W BOX MOD mod being reviewed today.
On the lid of the package we are greeted by the device itself, black in color, regardless of what is inside. You can find out the color by looking at one of the side walls of the package, opposite ours the manufacturer left a check mark. In my case, it is opposite the orange square, which means the design option is “bronze”. new zealand vape shop christchurch The box itself is sealed with a seal with a sticker on which there is a verification 16-digit digital and QR code. If you decide to find out on the manufacturer’s website how “authentic” your purchase is, do it before opening it, then it will be more difficult to assemble the “puzzle”. Among the huge number of inscriptions, listing the equipment and characteristics of GTRS, for some reason they forgot to indicate the capacity of the built-in battery.

The kit is truly royal! What is the 1.5A power supply unit for the network, which is almost never found anywhere, in my kit, however, it is clearly not for our sockets. The purpose of the spare plastic glass for the screen is unclear. The charging cable is very good and thick, but very short. The rest is a standard pile of papers from the “certificate”, advertising “bait” about the used LIMOU chipset, warranty card and user manual.
Appearance and design of the GTRS GT150
The manufacturer of our box claims a design developed in the USA (the manual mentions a certain Alan, who has won a dozen German design awards), and a board on a chip made in Germany. To be honest, I did not find the “ends” of the manufacturer LIMOU right away, and the similarity of the logo with the famous logo of the largest company producing computer processors inspires some doubts about the veracity of the statement about the “German chip”. In general, some confusing statements. To someone, the appearance of the GTRS GT150 may remind a stick, but the mod can only be called that conditionally: the atomizer is on top. The second association is a toilet. Now live with it.

Starting to examine the device from above, I would like to note the excellent steel connector, attached to the case with three screws. The diameter of the platform and the protruding part with a button, limiting the fit, allow you to screw atomizers up to ∅27 mm here. True, whether you can use such a setup or not depends on whether the airflow hole will look at the blind wall of the mod or not. The positive contact stroke is small, standard atomizers sit without levitation, but if you screw the Battle Deck, then there will still be a good millimeter from the base of the dripper to the platform.
On the bottom of the device there are etched (visible by the nearby grooves in the case) inscriptions Designed by GTRS (and who did it?) and Model: GT150. Here are also two screws fastening the case and ventilation holes located on the side of the screen.
The box mod uses a classic and familiar to many three-button system: Fire, the adjustment buttons “+” and “-” and various combinations for controlling the board’s functionality. The Fire button is separated from the connector pad by a large protrusion, so you don’t have to worry about liquid from a leaking atomizer getting into the gap between the button and the case. The pressing is tight, I would even say too tight, the click is almost inaudible and barely distinguishable. On the adjustment buttons, combined into a rocker, in addition to the “up” and “down” arrows, there are also, for some reason, duplicate signatures Plus and Minus. Pressing these buttons, on the contrary, is too soft, and the click is more distinct.
Impressions and conclusions
Glass for the GTRS GT150 screenI have been using the device for more than two weeks, my impressions of the device are controversial (as usual). On the one hand, it is a well-assembled and interesting-looking box mod, but on the other, it is not a fully thought-out and raw product. The disadvantages include the volume of the built-in battery, it could clearly be larger given the current dimensions. The second can be called the Fire button. Although it is large, pressing it is very tight, and the click is almost imperceptible. Plus, you need to press exactly in the center, and not from above, but exclusively from the side, otherwise nothing happens. It feels like you need to squeeze steam out of your setup. The next flaw is the lack of a lock for the adjustment buttons. “+” and “-” are very large, and no matter how you take hold of the mod, you will definitely press them, either with your fingers or your palm. Here you can safely add the lack of a passthrough mode, the device does not allow vaping during charging, and for a mod with a built-in battery this is quite critical. Well, and the final minus is a very high recommended price for both the kit and the box mod separately – about $ 100.
Axis RTA (24-27mm) on GTRS GT150 But, naturally, the device is not woven from only disadvantages. The advantages of the “toilet” include a rather pot-bellied, but ergonomic shape, the box mod fits well in the hand. High charging current (up to 1.5A), a connector with a landing of atomizers up to 27 mm and support for resistance in all modes from 0.05 Ohm are also included here, the GTRS GT150W can safely be considered a relevant device. During use, the coating did not suffer anywhere, the case looks as if it was made of copper or brass (but definitely not Rose Gold). True, there was some strange scratch on the button already out of the box, we’ll blame it on the crooked hands of the assembler.
