The iSolo S Kit consists of a battery pack with the same name and a maintenance-free tank called GX Tank. moti vape The latter will always be painted black in all available colors, and the boxmod itself can be in four variations at the moment: silver, blue, black and bronze, as we have in our review. Let’s start studying the kit with the atomizer, and then get acquainted with, perhaps, the main device in the whole “kit”.

GX Tank Atomizer
The GX Tank atomizer is a hybrid between sub-mod cartridges and classic maintenance-free tanks, and further on in the text we will see it many times. Visually, the device is quite nice due to its unpretentious design with a minimum of decorative elements. The tank is made of metal and food plastic PCTG.
The upper part of the atomizer is equipped, surprisingly enough, with an interchangeable drip tip of a fairly common format – 810. Two seals are responsible for tight fixation of the mouthpiece in its place. The drip tip is so harmoniously integrated into the overall design that initially it may seem that it is a part of the flask, but no. The end part of the atomizer, in turn, has a classic 510 connector with almost no protruding pin. Next to it, the manufacturer has applied a traditional group of pictograms.
Upon further examination of the device, namely when disassembling it, you can understand what it has in it from the mentioned sub-mods. The upper and lower parts are fastened together by means of a magnetic connection, and, by and large, the device design includes a regular cartridge and a base with a 510 connector. On the end of the bulb and inside the base there are grooves and protrusions that do not allow the connection to happen in an accidental position – you need to be sure to hit the lock. Apart from the contact group and a wide opening for the vaporizer, there is nothing else to pay attention to here.
In the set of its devices, the manufacturer puts two vaporizers at once, and different ones at that. Both replacements, which are also nice, come in sealed packages. The vaporizer labeled GX 0.2 Ω is made on a “double mesh” and is designed for power in the range of 50-80 watts, and the version with a higher resistance, GX 0.5 Ω, can be used in the wattage range of 25-45 watts, and here as a heating element is one piece of mesh. The coils use AST-Steel proprietary technology, which together with the board in the boxmode somehow cleverly understands when the tank runs out of liquid, stopping the voltage supply to prevent burning both the wool and the user’s heel.
Installation of the vaporizer is done according to the Plug-n-play principle (just insert it into the hole at the bottom of the cartridge). Beforehand, of course, it would not hurt to wet the cotton, but it is not necessary, because after filling you can wait for a few minutes until the liquid itself penetrates all the necessary places. The process of filling the tank is realized through the hole at the top under the cap, and spouts of any existing bottles will fit here without any problems.
Boxmod iSolo S
The compact iSolo S battery pack is made in a metal case with the use of plastic parts. The device is characterized by a rather ergonomic shape with rounded edges. The design, similar to the complete atomizer, can be called laconic and strict. On the front side, the Fire button, display and power adjustment keys stand out in contrast to the bronze color. Below in the black bet is a modern charging port of USB Type-C format.
On top of the box mod is an obvious and necessary for any device of this format – 510 connector. Users with experience will immediately recognize here, in general, the standard for Eleaf products version of the connector with a spring-loaded pin. The platform itself, according to feelings and rough measurements with the help of a tape measure, will accommodate atomizers with a seating diameter of 25 mm without any problems, in any case, the complete tank has just such dimensions, and there is still some space.
iSolo S boxmod functionality
The boxmod has a simple board with the same basic functionality, but not without some new features. Switching on, as well as switching off, is carried out by the usual five times pressing the Fire button, after which the device shows its monochrome display and information on it: battery charge, selected power, voltage and resistance. When on, you can lock the power adjustment by pressing plus and minus at the same time, and you can also activate stealth mode, in which the screen goes out while vaping. To do this, press Fire and minus. In the off state, if there is a strong need, you can change the orientation of the screen by simultaneously holding down the plus and minus buttons.
The boxmod is able to work in the power range from 1 to 80 watts with a step of 0.5 watts. There is no circular scrolling, but there is fast rewind. Interestingly, the device independently selects the optimal wattage according to the resistance of the vaporizer, and this feature works even with third-party atomizers. The offered wattage is often a little lower than necessary, but it’s still quite a useful option. The mod, in addition to GX Tank, was also tested with a cigarette atomizer on a microcoil with resistance of 1.2 Ohm, and the device did not allow to exceed the power of 20 watts, showing on the screen the inscription Max Power!
The user will be able to choose only two vaping modes: varivatt or bypass. You can switch between them by clicking the Fire button three times, and in the menu by the plus and minus keys. There is also a third mode, the AST-Steel mode, which prevents winding burning in case of lack of liquid in the tank. To activate it, when the device is on, we press the Fire button and the plus button, and then for a second we see the corresponding inscription and icon on the screen. The Dry-Proof warning will appear on the display when the protection is activated.
Another, undoubtedly, trump card of the battery pack is support for fast charging with a maximum current of 2A. The built-in battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh, according to the manufacturer’s assurances, should charge in just 60 minutes. When a USB Type-C cable is connected, the display shows a dynamic battery icon. Of the other features of the device at the end, we can note the presence of all standard protections, a cutoff of 10 seconds and lightning-fast operation in 0.001 seconds.
Impressions and conclusions
Firstly, the kit is satisfying with a pretty good delivery set, which includes two individually packaged vaporizers, this is important. Of the obvious advantages, we can also note the nice design of both devices from the kit. As for the operation of the box mod, everything is also very good. fast charging, which allows you to use the device as the main one during the day, provided, of course, that you have a socket/power bank and a power supply with a current output of 2A at hand.
