Appearance and design of Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod
Riva 200 Box Mod is a “lighter” (read: more affordable) version of another device from Dovpo – Riva 250C on the American DNA 250C board, released more than a year ago. This is not the first example when a Chinese company releases a “twin” of an expensive mod with its own chip for a “people’s” price. Earlier we have already looked at a similar example – Odin 200 running on 21700 batteries, its version on a chip from Evolv even won the award as “the best mod on DNA” in 2020 from Vaping360. So here it’s the same story, but with a few nuances. disposable vape in new zealand And aside from the changed stuffing, the first thing that is visible to the naked eye is the presence of USB Type-C instead of the outdated Micro USB.
Colors of Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod
The manufacturer offers its customers five variants of the device, but the color of the case can only be black or steel. All other differences are only in the leatherette overlay on the back of the box mod: black-black, black-brown (as in our review), silver-black, silver-brown and silver-blue.

Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod Connector
The connector of the device is made in the form of a steel pad, shifted to the front part of the case and held by two screws. The plus pin is gold-plated, made of brass, spring-loaded and has a good range of motion, there were no problems with the tested atoms. The minus part has a diameter of 22 mm, but due to a small “overlap” at the front of the body, allows you to screw here atomizers of much larger size. In addition to the connector, there is one more Torx screw on the upper pad, which holds the stuffing in the case.
Atomizer fit (28 mm) on Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod
The box mod is great for fitting tanks and drip pots up to 26mm, but if you’re not too picky about the bundle, even some ∅28mm atoms will look good here. The example in the photo above is the Pandemic 28mm Plague Edition, and at the end of the review there’s an example with a giant tank from Dovpo themselves – the Blotto Max RTA of the same diameter on the fit. The connector is raised above the body by about 0.2mm, which avoids radial scratches on the paint from atomizers.
Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod battery cover
On the lower plane you can find the manufacturer’s logo, the name of the mod itself and a couple of standard pictograms printed in white paint.
Dovpo Riva 200 Box Mod battery compartment cover
The battery cover is held on a hinge, and when closed, it is attached by a tab in the front part. There are no latches like in the long-suffering Cuboid, and the mechanism is opened by simply sliding it forward. The lid is hinged with some resistance, it does not dangle in the open position. Apparently, there is a spring in the hinge mechanism. There in the place of attachment you can also see the contact of the charging balancer. In the closed state, the cover is held by a spring, with installed batteries is also pressed from the inside by internal contacts, due to which it is securely fixed and does not open spontaneously.
Display
The device is equipped with a rather large color display of 0.96″ (approx. 2.4 cm), where the most important information about the device operation is displayed. Like in Riva 250C, four-button control is used: a round Fire is placed on top, rectangular buttons “+”, Menu and “-” are under the screen. The buttons are in their places, protrude above the case by a millimeter, in general, they are excellent to the touch. They all click with a metallic click, they don’t dangle, rattle or ring when touched, the fit is excellent.
Once the batteries are installed, you don’t need to turn the device on; it is ready to work immediately. If you still need to turn it off and on, a standard fivefold press on Fire will help you. The screen simultaneously displays the selected mode (top left), two icons of battery charge (it would be better if there were percentages here), the set power (depending on the mode it can be temperature or voltage), below – winding resistance, supplied voltage (or power), delivered current and the number of puffs made. The wattage adjustment from 5 to 100 watts is in 0.5 watt increments, if higher it’s in 1 watt increments. Rewinding is very cheerful, there are two speeds, and especially nice that there is also a circular scrolling – you can quickly switch from the minimum to the maximum value.
To get to the menu, you need to hold the middle button (the same Menu) for about a second. Here you can still see the power setting and even the battery icon, and of course the available items:
Power – varivatt mode, power setting from 5 to 200 watts
Voltage – varivolt mode, voltage setting from 0.8 to 8.0 volts in steps of 0.1 volts.
Temp Ni – thermocontrol on nickel; here and in other modes TC at the first selection gives New+/Same- prompt, temperature is adjustable from 93° to 315° Celsius or from 200° to 600° Fahrenheit, switching between scales is done by circular scrolling.
Temp Ti – titanium thermocontrol
Temp SS – thermocontrol on stainless steel
Stats – puff and vaporization time counters, which can also be reset by selecting Reset item.
Bright – setting the brightness of indication
Exit – exit the menu; or you can simply wait a few seconds for the device to return to the main screen.
